Nissan making refreshed Altima sedan at Tenn., Miss. plants
The Altima is Nissan’s best-selling model in the United States and the country’s third best-selling passenger vehicle in 2015. No other mid-size sedan has shown consistent fuel economy gains over the last decade like Altima has, including a 26 percent increase since 2006.
The company has produced more than 5.5 million Altimas in the two United States plants in Smyrna and Canton.
“Key features on the 2016 Altima include redesigned front and rear fasciae, lower and wider taillights, new 17″ and 18” machine-finished alloy wheels, and a refined interior design.
The new 2016 Altima is expected to go on sale at US Nissan dealerships in November.

The list of available Altima Safety Shield technologies has also been expanded and includes Predictive Forward Collision Warning (PFCW), radar-based Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Forward Emergency Braking (FEB), Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).

Nissan has launched production of an updated version of the midsized Altima sedan at assembly plants in Smyrna, Tennessee, and Canton, Mississippi.
