Asked about the possibility of the BSP and SP joining hands in UP as arch-rivals RJD and JD(U) did in Bihar, Mr Yadav said: “The relationship between the SP and BSP is different from the one between RJD and JD(U)”.
In 1996, the Janata Dal broke and Lalu formed his own party – the RJD – by virtually taking with him all the Janata Dal legislators of Bihar Assembly.
Nitish is said to have personally called up Siddaramaiah on Monday to invite him. The Prime Minister addressed no less than 30 election rallies and BJP president Amit Shah 76 in the course of the campaign.
Bihar can have a maximum of 36 ministers including the chief minister, as the total number of ministers cannot exceed 15 per cent of the total number of members of the house.
