Nitish resigns, Bihar assembly to be dissolved
President Basistha Narayan Singh said inviting the Prime Minister was a political etiquette and it was now on him whether to come or not.
To a question whether he would attend the swearing-in ceremony of Mr. Kumar on November 20, the BJP leader said it all depended on the kind of invite and his availability on that day. A senior JD(U) legislator said apart from PM, Nitish called other senior Union ministers, including Rajnath Singh and Arun Jaitley to invite them for the ceremony.
In a bid to showcase the Bihar victory on a large scale, six chief ministers of Congress ruled states would attend the swearing in function at Gandhi Maidan on Friday. His claim was accepted by governor and invited Mr. Kumar to form government in the state.Me Kumar told to the reporters that MLAs of allies of grand alliance RJD, JD(U ) and Congress will be included in the cabinet. He had addressed eight rallies in favour of secular alliance candidates during the poll campaign. According to our sources Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son in law Tej Pratap will also attend the ceremony.
Kumar and RJD chief Lalu Prasad wish to make the oath ceremony a big event by bringing together leaders of different parties which are opposed to BJP. “He ran an enemy-like campaign and used un-parliamentary language”, Singh said, insisting the verdict was also a referendum on the Modi government. Coming from an internal source, obviously much venerated too, the charge that the hold of the Modi-Shah duo on the party has “destroyed” the basic character of the BJP can be no longer dismissed lightly.
“The party rejects Singh’s criticism”.
Aam Aadmi Party affiliated volunteers helped Nitish Kumar in canvassing with more than one million young potential voters during the recently concluded Bihar polls, claim party leaders. It comes as a jolt to the grand alliance which was floated to counter the BJP in the state. Kumar, the chief ministerial face of the combine, is set to take oath on November 20.
In that context, the outcome of the Bihar elections in view of their impact on the prospects of the BJP obtaining in due course a majority in the Upper House, would have been of interest to foreign governments and investors.
Now a days Bihar election was the main focus of everyone in India as well as in other countries. It is not for him to decide and all parties concerned will have to take a call.
