Nitish sworn in as Bihar CM
Janata Dal-United (JD-U) leader Nitish Kumar, who led the Grand Alliance to victory in the assembly elections, on Friday took oath as the chief minister of Bihar. Lalu did not made any comment on the first day of his sons in the government and said that it was for the CM to comment on their performance of his ministers. Tejaswi has also been allocated the portfolios of PWD, forest and environment, according to official sources.
Apart from Nitish Kumar, twelve members from Janata Dal the Rashtriya Janata Dal and four from the Congress were administered the oath of office.
Criticising Kejriwal for hugging RJD chief and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad during Nitish Kumar’s swearing-in ceremony in Patna, Bhushan said “it was a betrayal of the dreams of Anna Hazare”.
Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lallan Singh of the JD(U) got the water resources department while his party colleague, Jay Kumar Singh received the industry portfolio.
Congress leader Ashok Choudhary is the new education minister. After which the recently appointed Governor asked to repeat the oath from start in front of thousands of RJD, JD(U) supporters.
DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin, who was deputed by party leader M Karunanidhi to represent the DMK at the event, felt that the political climate in Bihar augured well for the country and a mega alliance would herald a change in national politics.
Nitish will not only have to give maximum ministerial berths to RJD but will also have to accommodate the Congress. But in doing so, he will have to ensure that criminal elements are kept away from the government.

Congress Chief Ministers include Himachal Pradesh’s Virbhadra Singh, Karnataka’s Siddaramaiah, Assam’s Tarun Gogoi, Sikkim’s PK Chamling, Manipur’s O Ibobi Singh and Arunachal Pradesh’s Nabam Tuki.
