Michigan State played in the Rose Bowl against Stanford after the 2013 season and in the Cotton Bowl against Baylor after the 2014 season.
With Cousins’ Redskins in control of the NFC East at 5-6 and his Spartans playing in the second annual College Football Playoff, he probably does like that, a lot.
Welcome to the live blog for the basketball game between No. 1 MSU and Maryland Eastern Shore. Here is a look at the biggest winners and losers from this year’s Selection Sunday. Much like the team’s back-to-back SEC championships, placing Alabama in the No. 2 surprised absolutely nobody. But, Connor Cook has proved time and time again that he has what it takes to compete against the nation’s best competition. The next three games are going to get tougher and tougher.. But, against a team that averages 34 points a game and only surrenders 14.4 points, the Spartans need to score in waves to win.
Michigan State punched its ticket to Arlington this past Saturday by beating Iowa, 16-13, during the Big Ten Championship Game in Indianapolis. Michigan State knows how to win in the fourth quarter, so Alabama can ill afford to have this one be within a possession in the final minutes.
Oklahoma was No. 3 last week after it finished its regular season as the Big 12 champion, but Michigan State’s Big Ten championship game victory over previously unbeaten Iowa pushed the Spartans past the Sooners in the end.
