No. 23 Mississippi St falls to No. 19 Ole Miss 38-27
What this win means for Ole Miss: The Rebels looked like a team that wanted to play in the SEC championship.

Kelly threw for 236 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another score to lead No. 19 Mississippi over No. 23 Mississippi State 38-27 at Davis Wade Stadium.
Somebody forgot to relay the message to Ole Miss.
Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott, who cited this game as a reason why he came back for his senior season, per Marcus Hunter of WAPT News, didn’t have his best day, throwing for 254 yards with an interception and a fumble. Jones, sacked him seven times and limited him to just 3 yards per carry. Part of said nice little lead came courtesy of Prescott himself, as he threw a pick-six to Tony Bridges with three minutes and change remaining in the first quarter. When big hits occurred in the game, more often than not, Ole Miss was on the delivering end of the blows. The Ole Miss rushing game continued the revival that has taken place since the return of Laremy Tunsil as the Rebels rushed for 243 yards led by Jaylen Walton’s 93 yards.
Mississippi State (8-4, 4-4) finally got on the scoreboard early in the second period, with a 22-yard field goal by Westin Graves.
What this loss means for Mississippi State: It wasn’t the way Prescott and the other seniors wanted to go out, but this class has 33 wins over the last four years and will go down as one of the best classes in school history.
Mississippi State attempted to mount a comeback but didn’t have enough time to do so after scoring a pair of touchdowns, both on receptions by Malik Dear.
