No, Adam Rippon won’t be an NBC correspondent for the Winter Olympics
An amendment with protections for the LGBT community was passed a week later. In the past week I’ve heard a lot of people like, ‘whoa, Adam Rippon should tone it down.’ I can’t tone it down. The opening ceremony is tomorrow.
He added, talking to reporters: “I talked to you about how I felt before the Games”.
Pence also tried to bury the story. “But more importantly, I’ve learned from every setback, proudly own up to my mistakes, grown from disappointments, and now I’m a glamazon bitch ready for the runway”. Don’t let fake news distract you.
Adam Rippon isn’t a hulking football player like Michael Sam.
Pence’s office has denied the vice president believes in “gay conversion therapy”.
Greisman’s response to his mom publicly meddling in his love life is summed up in one succinct word: “Yikes”.
It was an honest answer, with Rippon’s typical humor, that won over even more fans.
Greisman also lauded Rippon’s openness during the games, tweeting, “I hate being earnest but an openly, “non-passing”, sassy, attractive gay 20-something daring America not to love him and becoming the sweetheart of the Olympic Games is very moving to me”.
Pence’s press secretary, Alyssa Farah, was quick to respond with a sharp rebuke.
In an interview with NBC on Friday in Pyeongchang, shortly before competing in the men’s individual short program, Rippon gave an honest interview in which he said he knew he was not the best skater at the games – but was the most fun. But one day later, Rippon says he was glad to be asked – but that he still has work to do, cheering for his teammates. “Your Olympics won’t be about Mike Pence. After this, I would really like to channel that into making a difference”. He finished 10th, a fine result for a 28-year-old who was never expected to medal against a field populated by younger, higher-flying competition. I’m trying to stay focused. Maybe I can get my cable bill reduced’.
Rippon, who is openly gay, made waves when he said he would not meet with Mike Pence, who led the US delegation to the games, because Pence has been accused of funding gay conversion therapy.
Can Team USA find room for him on the skeleton or curling teams?
It is Adam Rippon’s strong sense of self and irrefutable spirit that speaks to his growing world audiences. “This is what I’m made of and I think it’s important to show that being gay is such a little part of that”. And I know not everyone will agree with me, but I think that is what is special about the Olympics.
