No, Chip Kelly, LeSean McCoy will not shake your hand
The working relationship between Philadelphia Coach Chip Kelly and former Eagles running back LeSean McCoy did not end well. He can’t call me. We’re not going to shake no hands. There’s nothing he can do with me.
“I don’t have no issue with him. It’s as simple as that”.
McCoy maintains he harbors no hatred or ill will toward the Eagles head coach, but it’s clear he’s closed the chapter of his career that was spent with Kelly. “I know him. He’s very intelligent”.
That doesn’t mean they’re on speaking terms. He’s with the Eagles. “We ain’t like best friends or that, but we’re no enemies”. “So there’s nothing to really talk about”. Meanwhile, both the Bills and Eagles are in the middle of a playoff race; Buffalo is now eighth in the AFC, two spots out of the final wild-card spot, while the 5-7 Eagles share the same record as the Redskins and Giants in the NFC East, and the first one to seven will likely win the division.
The latest controversy was triggered on Wednesday when Kelly offered a gesture of friendship to his former running back.
Despite the aftermath of the trade, Kelly said he still believed the trade was the right move and that he respects McCoy and views him as a talented player. “We got nothing to talk about”, McCoy told reporters. During training camp, Kelly held Murray out of a few practices based on his hydration levels. He said he tried to call Shady after the trade, but his calls weren’t returned. “We’re planning on having him lining up out there”. He’s got an infectious personality. “I have tremendous respect for this man”. “It seems like everybody wants to make a big deal of it. I don’t think it’s that big a deal”. Asked about this apparent contradiction, McCoy said it was possible to be OK with someone and still not want to shake their hand.
McCoy said he doesn’t know how he’ll be received Sunday. DeMarco Murray is the Eagles top rusher with 569 yards and four touchdowns and Jordan Matthews leads in receptions with 61 and four touchdowns.
McCoy got off to a slow start in Buffalo, but he played through a hamstring injury. “You ask me, ‘Coach, you wanna go back and coach?’ No, I don’t wanna coach this!”
So now the heat on this National Football League beef is turned up again.
McCoy is starting to play up to his previous standards after his production was hampered by a strained left hamstring. McCoy is going to come out with a fire lit under him and will torch the Eagles for 140 yards and three touchdowns throughout the course of the game.
“There were times in training camp where I was (thinking), ‘Oh, my goodness”.
“He ran a little bit on the side”, coach Todd Bowles said. “He just had a conversation with him”. “And now that he’s healthy, we’re seeing the guy that we know he is”.
“I dunno. You guys figure it out”, Ryan said. He knows how I act.
