No ‘Force Awakens’ DLC for Star Wars Battlefront
The biggest question left in need of an answer after Star Wars: The Force Awakens is… well, we’ll talk about that after the spoiler warning below.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens continues to crush records, picking up a smashing US$37.3 million (S$49.2 million) on Tuesday (Dec 22) from the domestic box office. Abrams will remain on-board as an executive producer for Episode VIII, which is scheduled to arrive in May 2017. Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens added $38.1 million domestically and $38.4 million internationally on Wednesday for a global total of $76.5 million for the day. The film that has released in India today is grand which had many fans eagerly waiting for it.
Now it’s also dethroned Chris Pratt’s dinosaur blockbuster for another honor as the fastest film to crack the $300 million barrier at the box office; Jurassic World managed the feat in an impressive eight days.
Elsewhere in North America, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip, like Star Wars, continued to see a boost from kids being out of school for Christmas. The picture has earned $3.8 million since debuting last month. Every scene, every moment and every frame was etching itself into the history books as time went by, and it’s a sentiment shared by J.J. Abrams too, who’s packed The Force Awakens full of callbacks, references and tantalising clues for the future of the saga. When the movie opened in theaters, The Force Awakens lit up screens – and fans’ eyeballs – brighter than a lightsaber. Upon hearing the upsetting news, more fans expressed their outrage on Twitter.
Abrams’ movie career has consisted of rebooting and updating old properties like Star Wars, Star Trek and Mission: Impossible – and Episode IX director Colin Trevorrow just did the same with Jurassic World.
