No more Peyton? Giants QB Eli Manning can’t imagine it

We have great respect for their football team and what they’re capable of doing and how they got here, but we also have a lot of confidence in our football team, too.

With interest in the Super Bowl growing each year, 2016 is set to host yet another glittering event as the likes of Coldplay and Katy Perry are set to perform at half-time to, what is expected to be, a record number of viewers. Instead of knowing they can ignore the run and only worry about getting after the passer, the linebackers and defensive line will need to be ready to defend the run as well, which could slow down the pass rush just enough for the Panthers to take advantage. It’s like some Shakespearean thing, or one of those blaxploitation films about sticking it to the man. If Newton wins Super Bowl 50, sticking it to Denver, then there will be something to compare him to-other Super Bowl winners.

Two weeks ago on championship Sunday, he finally felt the love of a true “home” bar for the Broncos, as the numerous Panthers fans in attendance for the NFC Championship game took up the Denver cause during the AFC Championship over New England.

Carolina was the best team during the year, but this is different.

David Helman: There’s a lot of reasons to root for the Broncos on Sunday night. It’s the National Football League, the Super Bowl, not “Boyz in the Hood”.

But we’ll have to wait to see if Manning is riding off into the sunset.

I don’t see it, and I don’t think any self-respecting Raiders fan can see it either. His ability to extend plays should also present problems for the Denver secondary. Can imagine the end of the game with the ball in Manning’s hands…

“Of course the Broncos are going to win”, he said.

It looks like a gimmick play, but it’s not a gimmick for the Panthers.

Nick: This will be a contrast with my head and heart. (Last year they became the fourth team to make the playoffs with a losing record.) But this could be the year they finally put in a complete season. Newton had two TD strikes against the Cardinals and just one TD strike the previous week against the Seattle Seahawks.

Durant did, however, voice his admiration for the two quarterbacks suiting up Sunday in San Francisco, saying he’s a longtime Peyton Manning fan and that he’s rooting for Panthers QB Cam Newton. A Broncos spokesman told News Americas Now this morning that Thompson is currently on the Broncos’ 53-man roster for tomorrow’s big game and could very well play.

“He went to the first Bronco game ever I believe here at Denver at DU”. I predict someone like Von Miller or Emmanuel Sanders will be more deserving, but the writers still give Manning the MVP trophy.
