He said he had thought of introducing such a measure only after taking a number of steps, including redesigning the roads, augmenting public transport by bringing at least 10,000 buses and constructing dedicated elevated roads for buses.
Citing the upcoming Assembly elections in Punjab, Kejriwal said, “We are confident of winning the Punjab assembly elections in 2017”. “We will soon discuss this issue in a meeting”, Jain said. “Erring vehicles will be penalised heavily”.
He said it could be discontinued if people faced problems.
