Earnest praised the GOP-controlled South Carolina Legislature for voting Thursday to remove the Confederate flag from state grounds.
Earnest also noted with a “high degree of confidence” that the computer problems that grounded United Airlines flights Wednesday was not related to the technical glitch at the NYSE. “I think that’s something that the American people themselves will consider as they evaluate the agenda that’s been advanced by Republicans in Congress”.
Earnest talked about amendments by some House Republicans to prevent the National Park Service from eliminating the Confederate battle flag from national parks.
“Distorting fact to try and score cheap political points is no way to honor the victims of the horrific crime in Charleston”, Cory Fritz, Boehner’s press secretary, told National Journal.
