No suspicious devices found at Templeton High School following threat
Middletown High School received a robo-call threat “shortly before noon” on Monday, February 22nd.
Bomb sniffing dogs were brought in, and after sniffing every inch of the Monument Avenue school for over an hour, found no explosive devices, allowing students to leave school.
The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office responded to campus and helped evacuate students and faculty, after an individual called an anonymous bomb threat into the school’s office Monday.
“The rapid and comprehensive response by federal, state and local law enforcement allowed for the high school to be dismissed on time and in an orderly and safe fashion”, Scully added.
The threat was received Tuesday and the school is working with Hampton Fire and Police officials to search the building.
Meanwhile, parents and others sounded off on Facebook, some contending they were better informed by texts and pictures sent by their children from inside the high school. “We will also continue to inform you of any future school safety matters”. The students are being asked to temporarily report to Fowler until it is determined that classes will resume at Maynard High School.
The investigation into who made the threat is ongoing.
