No Talks On New Deal With Chelsea, Says Terry
The biggest news out of Chelsea this week was that the club will not offer captain John Terry a new contract.
The 35-year-old announced after his side’s 5-1 FA Cup win over MK Dons last week that he expected to retire elsewhere and that there would be no “fairytale ending” to his Blues career.
“I said what I had to say, that was how it was”.
Spain full-back Cesar Azpilicueta told the Evening Standard: “Gary is one of the veterans of the team”.
Previously, Terry disclosed that he was set to leave Chelsea as a free agent after the season ends since talks over a new contract had broken down.
“For me, I see no difference in the way he’s performing on the pitch, the way he’s playing and giving everything for the team as always”. I don’t know what’s happening.
Gary Cahill will likely benefit from Zouma’s unfortunate injury by returning to the starting XI. Thus far, all signs have been pointing to the fact that Abramovich wants to move on from the “old guard” and wants a fresh start in the summer, but Zouma’s freak injury will now be a major factor in the decision-making process for Chelsea FC going forward. “We know his quality and in this squad, it is always important to be ready”. We are now focusing ourselves and he himself explained that he’s focusing on the games in a tough week or weeks coming up.
Diego Costa’s late equaliser means Chelsea are still unbeaten under caretaker boss Guus Hiddink, but only two of the Dutchman’s eight Premier League games have been won. “But after that we reacted very well and deserved at least the point”.
