No terrorism link in gun arrest at Disneyland Paris
The man arrested for bringing two guns to Disneyland Paris said he packed the weapons to protect himself.
France has been in a state of emergency since Islamist gunmen and suicide bombers killed 130 people in a wave of extremist attacks in Paris on Nov 13.
“The police were immediately notified”, Disneyland Paris communications chief Francois Banon said.
Police tracked down a woman they believed to be connected to the man inside the park later Thursday, but released her after they realized they had the wrong suspect. His girlfriend was still being sought.
Disneyland Paris is situated about 30 kilometres (18 miles) east of the French capital and is the most visited theme park in Europe, with some 10 million visitors in 2014, according to that year’s Global Attractions Attendance Report. “We continue to work closely with the authorities, and the safety and security of our guests and cast members is our utmost priority”.

Staff and customers interviewed by the AFP news agency on Saturday night were incredulous at news of his arrest. “Honestly, I’m completely gobsmacked…this is a joke”, said the other co-manager.
Islamic State in Iraq and Syria militants claimed responsibility for the November attacks and have called for further attacks on France, whose jets are bombing areas they control in Syria and Iraq.
Judicial sources said the decision appeared to reflect concerns about personal protection for the judges as Belgium remains on high alert after the Paris killings, with armed troops patrolling the streets and guarding key buildings and institutions.
