Nokia 3310 comes back to life at MWC 2017
HMD Global is responsible for the new phone after licensing the Nokia brand a year ago. Powered by a removable 1200 mAh battery, the feature phone packs a massive 22-hour talk-time, and the company claims that it has a battery standby for up to a month.
Even though Nokia has not revealed it’s actual price, here are the specifications unveiled during its launch.
The one-time mobile king also unboxed a new fleet of Nokia smartphones at World Mobile Congress – the budget-friendly Nokia 3 and 5, which run on Android operating system, alongside the Nokia 6.
All four devices are aluminium, and each is shaped from an individual block of metal. The good news is the modern Nokia 3310 won’t cost a fortune, as HMD Global announced the feature phone will be available for purchase for €49. The best part is that the phone comes with a brand new version of the iconic Snake game.

Ben Wood, an analyst at CCS Insight, said, “The frenzy of nostalgia around the updated 3310 will deliver some much-needed consumer awareness that Nokia-branded devices are back on the shelves”.
When it comes to display technology the new phone offers a massive leap over the classic 3310; the screen has colour. “We were excited to work with them to bring back Snake in a modern format to a global audience”, Pekka Rantala, Chief Marketing Officer of HMD Global, said. According to the maker, it will be crucial for the long lasting battery life and a few other features that keep the phone truly retro. Moreover, the game is also going to available in a new version on Facebook’s Messenger app.
The 3310 was a cell phone staple in the 2000s and sold more than 100 million units. Space Defence and Bantumi were among the games that made Nokia 3310 a fun handset.
