NORAD is monitoring Santa’s progress
The NORAD Santa Tracker and the Google Santa Tracker have been activated for Christmas 2015, with millions of children around the world looking to track exactly where Santa is on the way to delivering their presents. Thanks to the advent of the internet, it’s easier than ever to follow Santa on his rounds.

Santa and his nine reindeer began their journey early this morning in Samoa and continue to to make their way around the world delivering toys to all the good little girls and boys.
The military’s North American Aerospace Defense Command, or NORAD, at Peterson Air Force Base, launched its 60th year of tracking Santa’s Yuletide adventure.
The reindeer’s annual exam includes a health check about 10 days prior to their Christmas Eve flight to make sure they’re healthy and not showing any signs of disease-such as brucellosis, tuberculosis or chronic wasting disease-that can be transmitted to other animals.
For 60 years, the USA military has had a special relationship with Santa Claus. It even offers a Christmas-themed game called “Code Boogie”, which teaches kids basic programming.
“We get a lot of calls from Europe, Australia and New Zealand”, said NORAD’s Stacey Knott, who has organized the Santa tracking for three years.
“So, he ordered his officers and his troops to start tracking Santa using our systems and telling the kids where Santa was throughout the night”, Maj. You know the familiar story, so it begs the question, how does Santa get in the house quiet as a mouse?
Santa (and Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, and Blitzen) took off from the North Pole sometime around 5 a.m. EST. After making his last deliveries, he will head home to the North Pole for some well-deserved rest – before starting preparations for next Christmas.
“Throughout the year, we can be pretty cynical”, Matthew Quinlan, marketing director for Bing, Microsoft s search engine, said in a blog post. Children can also speak to a live phone operator to ask about Santa’s location.
