Nordic Games renamed to THQ Nordic
Volition and Deep Silver handle the development of the game and there is no news yet especially as they just recently launched the Saints Row IV: Gat Out Of Hell standalone expansion.
On Friday Nordic Games’ Lars Wingefors, announced on the official company website a rebranding to THQ Nordic.
The company said that the rebranding is their next phase in their evolution as a company. Prior to acquiring THQ’s IPs in 2013, Nordic specialized in small-scale titles for Wii and DS. Once official, the company will be referring to itself as THQ Nordic, how nostalgic. Other IPs that THQ Nordic owns are Red Faction, de Blob and Full Spectrum Warrior.
The one dead publisher, THQ, is now making a comeback after having been acquired by Nordic Games and rebranded as THQ Nordic. They also bought the THQ trademark, which they’ve now made a decision to embrace wholeheartedly, officially changing their name from Nordic Games to THQ Nordic. Come the closure of THQ, the fate of the franchise was uncertain until now that Wingefors has announced that the game is among the 13 titles that are currently under development by THQ Nordic. “We cherish them, and align them with the very best development resources to expand upon them with the level of experience that communities and established fan bases expect and deserve”. THQ Nordic may reveal more of their plans soon but the undisclosed games are expected to be revealed before the end of the year. We hope the reception from our partners is less ambivalent but were OK either way. What do you think of the new THQ logo as well?
