North Korea’s Kim Jong Un Calls for World’s Best Footwear
Sources in Pyongyang were quoted in South Korea’s national daily Chosun Ilbo as saying that the authorities in North Korea issued an order asking men to keep their hair no longer than 2cm.
To give a boost to the factory made originals North Korean leader Kim Jong-un took a tour of a shoe factory and called on the industry to make the world’s best shoes, North Korea’s official news media announced Friday.
“The ruling party demands everything intended for the people should be the world’s best quality”, Kim said during his visit to the shoe factory in the east coast port city of Wonsan, according to the Korean Central News Agency’s report.
There have even been suggestions that Kim Jong-un has undergone plastic surgery to make him resemble his grandfather, Kim Il-sung, more closely.
Back in 2014, we heard several reports about a North Korea law that required all men to rock the same god-awful haircut as their supreme leader.
The style, known as “ambitious” in North Korea, propelled the dictator into meme infamy. However, women, thankfully, have been spared the prospect of appearing in public with Kim’s highly-stylised hair cut, but they are advised to copy his wife, Ri Sol-ju’s bob cut.
To enforce the order, authorities have deployed monitors armed with scissors and the power to cut the hair of violators of the order.
However, performers are an exception.
