Norwich keen on signing Rickie Lambert
The 26-year-old from Derry, who refused to wear a poppy on his kit during his time at Sunderland and Wigan Athletic, has come in for criticism for his actions and head coach Pulis has reminded his recent recruit of his responsibilities.
“Obviously there has been a stigma around him and he doesn’t need to start that up again”, Pulis told the Wolverhampton Express & Star.
“He’s got to turn towards the flag like everybody else has and he recognises that”.
Meanwhile, the Baggies are expected to step up their interest in Liverpool’s Rickie Lambert in the next 24 hours.
The Baggies have been linked with a £3.25million move for the England striker and reports have claimed that talks over a move to the Hawthorns are in the pipeline.
Albion boss Pulis has warned new recruit McClean he must protect his reputation after the incident during the club’s tour of the United States.
Lambert scored three goals in 36 appearances for Brendan Rodgers’ side last season after joining from Southampton in the summer of 2014.
The England worldwide is set to leave Anfield, with the Reds poised to complete a deal for Aston Villa’s Christian Benteke to join Daniel Sturridge at Liverpool.
Pulis has turned to Antonio after being quoted £10million for QPR’s Matty Phillips and is hopeful of progress this week in his attempt to sign the former Sheffield Wednesday wideman.
