Norwich reject Grabban bids
HITC Sport understands that a third bid from the Cherries has been rejected by their fellow Premier League new boys.
Norwich have issued a hands-off warning to Bournemouth after turning down a second bid for striker Lewis Grabban.
The 27-year-old spent two years at Bournemouth before joining Norwich in the summer, but the Cherries are keen for him to return to the club.
Neil refused to be drawn on whether Grabban had headed south without his permission, but insisted neither he nor Norwich will be held to ransom.
Grabban will be in the Norwich squad for Tuesday’s Capital One Cup trip to Rotherham and Neil is adamant the frontman will not be sold to a “direct rival” and reassured Grabban he is in his plans.
Grabban featured in Norwich’s two opening Premier League games, but was an unused substitute in the 1-1 draw with Stoke City on Saturday.
“The situation is that Bournemouth have come in with two separate bids for Lewis and both have been rejected”.
“The fact (is) that we have in excess of 20-odd players and I’d like to think they’re all more than capable of competing and doing well”, Neil added.
“We’ve been doing a lot of watching teams and talking to different people”.
“Everybody wants a cup run if you can get one; it’s one of those ones where you want to get by without any injuries and put in a decent performance”, he said. Any sort of thing that happens behind closed doors stays there and that has always been the case and that will remain the case.
