Not enough answers for Chicago Bears vs. Brock Osweiler, Broncos run game

According to various media reports, the Denver Broncos have made a decision to give Brock Osweiler another look and start him next week against the visiting Patriots.

Osweiler gazed out at his teammates, won over the room, then several hours later won his starting debut, guiding the Broncos to an efficient, if not dramatic 17-15 victory over the Chicago Bears.

Which means the Denver Broncos have a huge question looming: Who should be their quarterback once Manning is healthy? He was held to 35 yards and four interceptions before Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak finally had enough. At the moment, it’s convenient for the Broncos to allow him to take his time healing, given how Brock Osweiler is playing.

“It’s unfortunate to see Peyton, any great quarterback like that on the down swing”, said Michael Manning, no relation to Peyton. He went 20 for 27 passing and threw for 250 yards and a pair of touchdown passes. Jay Cutler was sacked to end Chicago’s second drive of the game, and Willie Young and Bruce Gaston each picked up sacks against Osweiler as the Broncos were forced to punt the ball away. “They also say he is going to run Kubiak’s offense like it’s supposed to be run just because he is much more athletic than Peyton Manning”.

One of the biggest differences was the different styles of running backs that the Broncos put forth.

Kubiak added that Manning was in Charlotte, N.C., on Monday to get a second opinion on his injured foot.

Manning, who is just 5-11 against Brady, has been sidelined with a foot injury.

“Understanding sport, I don’t how many golfers go out and work on their half-swings or in tennis they work half-speed to practice tennis”, Fox said. That’s disappointing. There are going to be things out there and things said, but I know what’s going on. The idea of Osweiler rallying the team seemed preposterous three weeks ago after Manning trounced the Green Bay Packers. “But it was encouraging, I think, for a first start in this league”.

“I’m told he now intends to play next year, even if it’s not for the Broncos”, Florio said. In the boot-action, Kubiak offense, Ronnie Hillman got going, finishing with 21 yards on 102 carries, averaging 4.9 yards a pop, helping maintain drives for Osweiler and Denver’s offense.

The Broncos now know that Osweiler can manage a game and allow the defense to win it for them. He played near perfectly for a backup quarter back.

After the Bears marched down the field to score a touchdown with 29 seconds on the clock – thanks in part to a couple of pass interference calls – Ward and the Broncos’ defense were not about to let the Bears extend the game with a two-point conversion.

Prosinski said the defense was not surprised by Osweiler’s reliance on his big tight ends, and the focus for defenders is to have good eyes. We’ve got to play pretty good football for four quarters and we’ve got to play really good football in the fourth quarter.
