Now, downloadable shows and movies on Netflix
Netflix has given binge-viewing fans what they’ve been clamouring for by announcing the introduction of an offline viewing.
Netflix said Wednesday that its subscribers worldwide will now have access to a much-requested new feature, downloading content for offline viewing.
Content now not available to download for offline viewing includes Netflix’s reboots of “Gilmore Girls” and “Fuller House”, as well as the Marvel street-hero series including “Daredevil”, “Luke Cage” and “Jessica Jones”. The leader when it comes to the world of streaming content, Netflix did not allow this service for a very long time.
“This is an ongoing effort as we know consumers want this capability and we are working to provide it”.
Netflix is arguably the best subscription video service on the market today, and their mobile application just got 10 times better.
The download feature is available on all Netflix plans and will also give customers the chance to download content on their phone and tablet devices. However, shows such as Stranger Things, Orange is the New Black, and Master of None can watch these originals on an airplane (or wherever internet isn’t readily available). Rivals Vudu and Amazon Instant Video have ways to watch some shows offline after download, as do pay TV operators Comcast and Dish (via its HopperGO portable video device). The arrival of the option should come as welcome news to people who can now watch Netflix while travelling on a plane or to a country where Wi-Fi isn’t readily available or expensive.
NETFLIX, the pioneer of video streaming and mother of the meme “Netflix and chill?”, is finally offering something users have been pining for – offline viewing. Netflix has moved into making its own shows and feature films.
