Now You Can Order Food by Talking to Your Amazon Echo

Access to Alexa on the move also means Ford drivers will be able to control their internet-connected smart home gadgets from the auto. For this reason, Reuters noted that Amazon has an advantage over the search giant when it comes to dominating the artificial intelligence industry.
Prime member who want to take advantage of this new service can start using Alexa to order out right away. There’s also several other Echo-like speakers that come with Alexa, such as Mattel’s kid-friendly Aristotle and Lenovo’s Smart Assistant.
Amazon’s voice assistant has already made a huge dent on the smart home, with its low-priced Echo and Echo Dot quickly winning over a previously cynical audience. Alexa will pull up recent orders from that restaurant or cuisine and list off the different meals available for delivery.
The partnership stems from Ford and Amazon’s shared vision that our voices will become the primary way we interact with devices and services, and Amazon is also working with BMW to integrate Alexa into its models in the near future.
Alexa promises to make life a little easier. According to Ford’s press release announcing the news, the Alexa integration is the “most comprehensive ever in a vehicle”. Several companies, including GE, Ford and Whirlpool, have announced plans to add the voice-activated assistant to their hardware.
