NTSB hosting “Twitter chat” for Child Passenger Safety Week

Parents who buy second-hand vehicle seats may be unknowingly buying a seat under recall with safety defects. Child Passenger Safety Week runs September 13-19 and is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
PIX 11 reported that the top tether on the ProRide and Performance Ride vehicle seats, made before June 9, 2015, can detach during a crash.
In Florida, during 2014, there were 32 deaths and over 700 injuries caused by crashes in which children under 18 were not secured in vehicle seats or wearing seat belts.

Plus, they advise making sure straps of the auto seat are adequately tight enough to prevent a child from moving around freely. It’s just important to do your research.
