Nuggets add F Miller
Miller, who was dealt to Portland in July in a salary dump, is preparing to serve as in a mentorship role for the Nuggets’ young perimeter talent.
The veteran had visited Denver previously, including last offseason before he eventually signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Mike Miller has seemed to gravitate toward winning teams in the past several year.
Mike Miller signed a contract with the Denver Nuggets Wednesday, per the Denver Post’s Christopher Dempsey.
Miller played in 52 games with Cleveland last season, signing with the team after LeBron James returned.
In three seasons with the Heat, Miller was part of the team that won back-to-back titles in 2012 and 2013. The Nuggets also have a considerable amount of wing depth with Gary Harris, Randy Foye, Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler and Will Barton.
Over his career, Miller has averaged 11.3 points and 4.4 points while shooting 46% from the floor and 40.7% from three-point range.
“We’re always looking to improve our roster”, Connelly said when asked if the team could look to add “a hypothetical veteran”. He a great 3-point rifle, bumping 41 percentage from behind your rainbow. It was a total mess the past two years and the clashes with former coach Brian Shaw only made the problems worse.
They play their first preseason game Friday in Los Angeles against the Clippers.
