NY blizzard snowboarders carve up streets in defiance of travel ban
The documentary-style video has greatened our appreciation for the amount of work that went into filming and planning their escapades in the NY streets.
A group of defiant adventure seekers glided through New York City on snowboards Saturday, dismissing a travel ban as a record-setting snowstorm blanketed the Big Apple.
A short video of the snowboarding expedition was uploaded to Neistat’s hugely popular YouTube channel on 24 January, and by the end of the day had already been viewed over 1 million times.
– Filmmaker Casey Neistat, 34, is blowing up the Internet with a video he posted Sunday snowboarding through New York City to the classic Frank Sinatra tune, “New York, New York”.
The duo, at one point, garnered attention from an NYPD vehicle parked on the side of the street.
“We’re just going to act like we’re talking to you, alright?”
‘You guys are awesome!’ a voice inside the Jeep said. That didn’t stop a brazen pair from having serious fun in the snow.
And over at the National Zoo, Tian Tian, one of their resident giant panda, was seen reveling in the mounds of snow.
