NYCC 2015: Robert Kirkman Talks All Things Walking Dead
The spinoff show “Fear the Walking Dead” is less about the zombie apocalypse and more about a dysfunctional family brought together in the face of danger.
The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman was the special guest of a panel centered around the comic/show/franchise yesterday at New York Comic Con, hosted by The Nerdist’s Dan Casey. According to US News, the event was attended by lucky fans-all dressed like zombies-who won tickets from giveaways and raffle draws.
“It was always going to be about how an environment changes people”, star Andrew Lincoln said.
Lincoln announced in the 6th spell, however, the undead creatures generate a answer: “The undead creatures are incredibly much back in the foreground”. “Emotionally, physically, everything is absolutely relentless”.
On the subject of makeup, Rob revealed an increase in the use of computers and digital effects to make the zombies more gruesome.
“This is only the beginning of the most intense season”, assured Kirkman before reminding the crowd, as he usually does, that any character on the series can be killed off at any time. According to IGN, the actor said that “this season is the most ambitious and biggest season” they’ve ever attempted. But yes, there are three or four brutal, terrifying threats, all either walker or human or internal struggle, all sort of adding to the drama of the show. And while Kirkman was light on plot details about the new episodes, he did tease a few broad strokes.
“I’m from Zimbabwe”, actress Danai Gurira said.
Oh, I can tell you one thing! The event was held Thursday in honor of “The Walking Dead’ Season 6 premiere Sunday on AMC. I’m watching cuts and I go, ‘I gotta watch the next one!’ I just hope that’s how everyone else feels”.
