O’Malley hits Clinton for 9/11 remarks
A spokesman for Sen.
“Debate recap”, tweeted Rubio spokesman Alex Conant.
Sanders and Clinton agreed to move past her email scandal.
“The CBS folks were like, ‘Look, we’re not turning this into a foreign policy debate”.
Sanders criticized then Sen.
How many people actually watched this debate?
The missteps are emblematic of a concern that has dogged Clinton’s candidacy.
But for the time being, at least, she may be able to afford it.
Saturday, the Democratic candidates appeared to rally to the term Jihadi or Jihadist, which derive from the word for a holy war by Muslims.
That criticism was directed at Clinton who immediately defended herself. CNN’s debate was held on a Tuesday night in October, and there was also seemingly less awareness of the second debate, which was broadcast on CBS. The delegates were asked which candidate they plan to support at the convention next summer.
Opponents jumped on the other moments, too. “And we knew there was going to be an extended, as it turned out a 32-minute discussion of [terrorism], which would follow immediately thereafter”. Kirsten Gillibrand, Clinton’s successor as NY senator, to provide 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave. “At the same time, a lot will go back to when she was Secretary of State and the things she did while the Secretary that helped ISIS develop more in the middle east”. And it was a way to rebuke the terrorists who had attacked our country. Any bets on whether the game drew more Iowa viewers than the debate?
“He’s not on Wall Street”, said Clinton.
Yes, they don’t feel that great about the Republicans either, and listening to a few of the folks on stage at the last debate I can’t blame the respondents much on that score either.
For a moment, Clinton paused, seemingly stunned by the implication that she had politicized the 2001 terrorist attacks. In an Associated Press poll of 712 superdelegates, 359 said that they would cast their ballots for Clinton at the Democratic convention.
Clinton Saturday referred to a “radical jihadist ideology”.
On Sunday, she stressed that the fight against “radical jihadism” is a top priority. Clinton, exasperated, famously responded: “What difference – at this point, what difference does it make?”
Financial records backed that up, but the line clunked so badly that the conservative American Crossroads ended up showing it to focus groups of women in swing states.
Nevada and New Hampshire are battleground states because they can be won by Republicans or Democrats. But this backstage fighting wasn’t about foreign policy at all.
The aide noted that Clinton represented NY in the Senate and worked hard to rebuild the area affected by the fall of the World Trade Center, but that Clinton would not hesitate to crack down on financial institutions.
Superdelegates are delegates to the Democratic National Convention who can support the candidate of their choice, regardless of what happens in the primaries and caucuses. “You know, maybe they’re dumb and they don’t know what they’re going to get, but I don’t think so”.
But Clinton campaign communications director Jen Palmieri was not on the same page as Jackson-Lee and her candidate.
“It’s pretty clear where she stands on issues, and donations don’t play a role in how she’s going to come down on that issue”. Sanders voted against it as a member of the House of Representatives, and he aimed to use this against Clinton in the debate. A staffer for one of the other campaigns who was also on the call described the exchange to Yahoo News as “heated” and even “bizarre”, and a second source on the call confirmed the nature of the exchange.
“I represented NY on 9/11 when we were attacked”, Clinton said during the debate.
That’s where author and liberal firebrand Cornel West took the conversation.
Wisconsin Republicans control nearly every major part of state government, however Wisconsin has not swung to republicans in a presidential election since 1984.
Clinton later said, however, “This can not be an American fight, although American leadership is essential”.
“I say, I was born at night but not last night”.
