Obama Administration Doubles Down On Accusations Of Israeli Terror
In a statement, Thursday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused the Palestinians of spreading lies about the violence, and warned the world not to confuse his country’s victims with their attackers.
Republican Senator Ted Cruz called on Secretary of State John Kerry to either resign or distance himself from comments made by State Department spokesman John Kirby that a few Israelis were guilty of terrorism.
According to Palestinian sources, a total of 32 Palestinians have been killed in clashes with Israelis since October 1.
Attempts by Kerry in 2013 to broker a peace accord collapsed past year, and although he has continued to talk to both sides, he has not tried to resume negotiations on a two-state solution.
Kerry specifically addressed foreign plans regarding the U.S.-Israel relationship, the Transpacific Partnership, climate change and worldwide terrorist organizations.
At the same time, Kirby said the USA had “seen a few reports of security activity that could indicate the potential excessive use of force”.
Meanwhile, the Obama administration came under criticism on Wednesday for accusing Israel of “terrorism” amid a sharp uptick in terror attacks committed by Palestinians against Jews. The past secretary of state, Hillary Clinton, couldn’t get to Unify the two nations, a problem which still is a headache to John Kerry.
“I think what a lot of people have observed is that there is a lot of tension around the Haram as-Sharif Temple Mount site, and that a lot of those tensions have boiled over into the outbreaks of violence that we’ve seen over the last couple of weeks”.
“We strongly condemn the terrorist attacks against innocent civilians”, Kerry said without blaming either side for the violence.
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said Thursday that he will travel to the Middle East to talk with Israeli and Palestinian authorities about the current wave of violence in the region and to support efforts to “restore calm”.
As it turns out, Palestinians do not attack Israel because they despair of an unending “occupation” but rather because they sense that victory, i.e. the defeat of Israel, is just around the corner.
