Obama on a possible Trump win: ‘Anything is possible’
Speaking live from Kenya on British TV, Malik Obama said that Barack “has this attitude like ‘I’m the president, I’ve made it, I’m the star here'”. But these days, the President won’t rule anything out. “It is the nature of democracy, until those votes are casts and the American People, you know, have their say, we don’t know”.
Based on personal observations, Obama says he is frightened by the possibility of the Republican presidential nominee having access to nuclear codes.
The comments stand in contrast to the steely confidence Obama has shown in the past when discussing the 2016 race.
He also said the magnate was wrong to assert that he alone can solve the United States’ problems because “that’s not how our founders designed our system”. “What I think is scary is a president who doesn’t know their stuff and doesn’t seem to have interest in learning what they don’t know”, Obama told Today.
Obama, 58, is not pleased with the way Hillary Clinton’s private email leak was handled, saying in a video that, “I just thought there must be – it just isn’t right!”
“I never have. I’m always busy doing a lot”, Trump said.
According to the Real Clear Politics polling average, Trump is now up on Clinton by 1.1 points.
“Anything is possible”, Efe news quoted Obama as telling The Today Show’s Savannah Guthrie when asked if Trump could be elected in November.
Trump is riding high after a post-convention bump in the polls.
“I’ve seen all kinds of insane stuff happen, and I think everybody who goes into campaigns not running scared can end up losing”, Obama said.
