The account will keep its 11 million or so followers, but the tweets will be wiped from the timeline.
All of Obama’s tweets and posts on other social media sites will be preserved in the National Archives Electronic Era Archives. The accounts with “44” will remain under the control of Joe Biden, Michelle Obama, and their staffers.
The White House’s We The People website boasts 12 million verified users who have created more than 470,000 petitions to the government.
As the first president to have a true social media presence, Obama has transformed the way the president connects to constituents. Likewise with Instagram and Facebook, the plan says.

It’s transferring official accounts and handles like @POTUS and @VP to the next administration. Though 42 other presidents have lived there with their families, each one has been allowed to decorate the private chambers according to personal tastes.
