Obama seeks to reassure allies over Nato
Calvin Hunt stands with his son outside of Trump Tower on November 16, 2016. With diplomacy the United States opened relations with Cuba. Thousands of people took to the streets and gathered at Trump Towers today in NY to demonstrate against Donald Trump’s presidency.
Trump is one person who stood up and made a decision to run for president.
Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras won elections past year on what critics say was a populist platform, though one on the left of the political spectrum.
Or, should I say, sit down and guess what’s about to happen, since our president-elect is already backing from his campaign promises about Obamacare and same-sex marriage and throwing in new ideas like cancelling billions of dollars to climate change programs within the United Nations. “All he did was give out free phones and food stamps”. If we keep documenting when a person of a certain race, religion, gender or sexuality is the first to do something, we’ll never embody the full potential we have as Americans. Bernie Sanders begged the protestors to stop and “accept Trump’s presidency”. He’s our president. He’s got to go against Russian Federation. “Hillary, they don’t like Hillary”.
“I know this has been a painful and hard time, especially for Greek workers and families, pensioners and young people”. But Trump’s rhetoric and poor speech further tarnish the respect and responsibility needed for the Oval Office.
Let’s use this time to not only cherish the time we have left, but to digest what’s to come. More than ever we need to focus on resolving the numerous serious issues facing this nation, and anything that detracts from that resolve should be set aside until the problems are under control. Like most people, he’s changed his positions on things over the years. A prominent Victoria businessman and farmer said “people around here have a lot of common sense”. They want a vote recount. If mainstream media had done their job about the real issues Americans care about instead of tabloid sexual groping, Trump’s victory would have been a foregone conclusion, not a surprise. Only two percent of Trump voters said they are “less confident” in Trump post-election, while 75 percent of Clinton voters are less confident.
“In the economic crisis of 2008, [Obama] led the USA economy on a completely different path to that chosen by Europe”, said the Greek Premier. GOP primary foe-turned-Trump supporter Doctor Ben Carson says he has no interest in a cabinet position, while House Homeland Security Chairman Mike McCaul is pushing to become the head of the federal agency he oversees in Congress. He has nothing to do with that. “And that can serve him well as long as he’s got good people around him and he has a clear sense of direction”.
He noted how US democracy had evolved to provide rights to women, African Americans, people with disabilities, and the gay community.
“I see President-elect Trump being very calm and cool and collected”. Can we forget all of the other labels? The republic, stayed intact until after the inauguration of Abraham Lincoln, whose party now dominates Washington DC. They could pass bills that will go all the way through.
Obama says increasingly people feel disconnected from their government and institutions.
Quietly, Hunt admitted that he did like Obamacare. I know that if Sanders was the nominee Trump would not have won in such spectacular fashion. And part of my message as I travel not just to Greece but to meet with other European leaders is to encourage a process that ensures opportunity for all, particularly for the youth of Europe and youth here in Greece.
