Obamacare chiefs have not yet heard from Donald Trump’s team
Trump will have a tough time repealing the Affordable Care Act – but he and the Republican-led Congress can remove critical parts of the law that could contribute to its collapse, a University of Louisville professor said.
However, after Trump won the election, those hikes may not be an issue any more – since the Affordable Care Act may not be around for much longer.
This year, New Jerseyans can choose from 19 different plans that provide comprehensive coverage through a number of essential benefits, from pre- and post-natal care to mental health services. Premiums won’t skyrocket, because the cost incurred by insurers to cover those with expensive health conditions will be subsidized by healthy people who also pay premiums.
More than 300,000 people selected plans November 9-11, the health agency reported. But that’s not the only disappointing Obamacare news.
Still, officials said they have seen an outpouring from consumers wanting to make sure the government knows how important the endangered program has become in their lives. It’s possible that Obamacare will repealed by the end of 2017, but for now the lawful choice is to choose a plan by the deadline.
Rep. John Shimkus (R-Ill.) countered that numerous people who gained coverage under the ACA don’t want to keep the plans they signed up for because the premiums and deductibles are too expensive.

“It’s really hard to know how the Medicaid waiver will be affected at this point”, Pulos said.
“Our budget is already stressed, especially around health care costs”, said Rosenberg, D-Amherst, at a recent press briefing. Hillary Clinton is left saying the problems are real, but fixable.
All that, said Ducey, makes outright repeal without something else to take its place unacceptable. Trump hinted last Friday that could happen. “And we totally understand those concerns”.
Several CNNMoney readers who had been in high risk pools before obtaining Obamacare policies said they are concerned about losing their coverage and being forced back into the pools.
As of previous year, the Department of Health and Human Services reported that the percentage of Maryland residents who are uninsured dropped from 12.9 percent to 7.8 percent and that the state has received nearly $200 million in funds related to the ACA’s implementation.
He says for now, consumers with a plan under the ACA can rest assured.
In addition to Trump’s repeated criticisms of Obamacare, there were reports in October that premiums for plans purchased through the healthcare exchanges established by the Affordable Care Act would increase by an average of 25 percent in 2017.
“And that piece of it – that we should not pay based on volume, but we should be paying providers based on the value that they offer to the marketplace – that idea, I think, resonates across partisan lines”. We will also advance recommendations to support the delivery of high quality patient care. “It’s going to take a while to figure this out”, said Stevenson. “People don’t have to worry about waking up and finding out they don’t have health coverage or can’t fill prescriptions”.
