Obamacare open enrollment ends at midnight
Nationwide, the number is up from previous year.
That’s because Republicans have spent the last few months talking about repealing and replacing Obamacare, but details of a new plan have been sparse.
USF held an enrollment event last week, just days after President Donald Trump signed an executive order directing his administration to facilitate the repeal and replacement of Obamacare.
Though the study concedes it doesn’t know what will replace it, Potential Impacts of the Repeal of the ACA analyzes possible risks that may arise for health insurers during the process.
“We don’t have any details yet on what the changes might be and when those changes might occur”, says Jill Hanken, the director.
Everyone in the Republican majority takes it as an article of faith that the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, must be overturned. Keep in mind that if you don’t sign up before the January 31 deadline and go uninsured, you’ll still be responsible for paying the ACA penalty for not having any health insurance.
“Health insurance provides peace of mind, as enrollees enjoy access to necessary services, as well as protection against the unexpected”, Riley said.
However, signs indicate that Mr. Trump is ready to roll back the mandate, which has been largely unpopular with the public. This spending loss is more than 2 percent of the state’s GDP.
While President Trump’s executive actions to ease some burdens of the health care law will provide immediate relief, it is the responsibility of Congress to fix the current broken system. “And if the law is repealed, the amount of people who do not have access to affordable healthcare in Tennessee will be astronomical”. “That’s one of the concerns”.
The deadline to enroll in Obamacare is near but many people who are eligible aren’t sure what to do. That’s why we launched GetCoveredNYC, a team that works to get New Yorkers insured all year long.
Photos on social media showed protesters rallying at numerous universities in different cities, while holding placards reading, “Universal Health Care is a Universal Right”, “I stand with the 30,000,000”, and “Protect our patients”. “But the realization is that the risk of not signing up at this point in time is greater than the risk of signing up”.
