Obamacare: Republicans Keep Draft Of Affordable Care Act Replacement Under Wraps
A full repeal of Obamacare would take away this protection.

Under the law, the government set up a temporary program called the Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan, to serve as a bridge until the phase-in of the requirement that insurers accept people with health problems.
Passmore, a vice president for the Congress of California Seniors, Assemblywoman Monique Limon, U.S. Rep. Julia Brownley and others talked about the Affordable Care Act and other issues at a senior health and safety focus event in Camarillo. Republicans promised to quickly “repeal and replace” the law.
They’re not created to help health care consumers like you and me. They believe any plan should repeal key components of ObamaCare, such as greater funding for Medicaid, individual and employer mandates, exchange subsidies, and more than a dozen taxes. It failed to bring down the cost of health insurance, but it did manage to get millions of people health insurance who previously couldn’t afford it.
Republicans arguably lost their chance long ago to ensure a truly free-market health system, so the new plan must include everyone.
What the President means by “increased access” is open to some debate. Health care shouldn’t be a commodity or a tool for millionaires and billionaires to make more profit. The new ratio would be 5-to-1.
The reasons for this growth in coverage are two-fold. “I recognize that the law has areas that need improvement, but I also recognize that it is my responsibility to voice my opposition to efforts to challenge the Affordable Care Act”.
Retirees can not focus too much on private insurance as that would lead to saving enough for an unknown need that may or may not occur. Some say they’ve benefitted greatly from the ACA. He suggested that dramatic changes to the health care system could send far more people into emergency rooms instead of doctors’ offices. You and your loved ones deserve high-quality health care, too.
“First of all, we’re going to get both [tax and healthcare reform] done”. In another comparison with seven European countries, administrative costs accounted for 25 percent of spending at US hospitals – far and away the most.
These ideas promise “access” to care but deny the importance of making care affordable and effective. And since the Affordable Care Act marketplaces launched in 2014, monthly premiums have actually fallen. Then midway through the 2013 plan year, 17 states unwilling to pay for cost overruns turned their programs back to the federal government. Let’s hope that more reasonable people in the Legislature prevail. There are millions of us – and even those of us who don’t have health insurance through the low-priced exchanges still benefit daily from protections under the law. States starting in 2017 have to chip in for more of the costs. The newer leaked plan has a $2,000 tax credit for those between 20 and 30, and $2,500 for those between 30 and 40. A 2106 analysis by the Commonwealth Fund of health care costs in eight advanced nations showed that the US continued to spend far more than any other nation on health care, with generally poorer health care results. “In health care, there is no other place to go”. Our healthcare system has moved from one that rewards quantity of care to one that rewards quality of care – reducing costs and providing better care for patients. In the private sector you brush yourself off and look for another job!
