Obsidian Dev Interested in Working on Another Fallout Game
Releasing in 2010 to strong sale figures, New Vegas was neither a prequel nor sequel to its immediate predecessor, and instead took numerous gameplay elements from Fallout 2 and spun them out across a standalone entry. While the prospect of Obsidian putting together another Fallout game is exciting to say the least, it’s important to note that at this point in time, no actual plans are in the works for the studio to move forward with development on a sequel for the post-apocalyptic franchise. That hasn’t changed even after Fallout 4′s release as writer and designer Eric Fenstermaker said the studio was always up for it. Fenstermaker also complimented the “Fallout” franchise, stating that it was “a really fun property to work with”. According to Forbes, there was a controversy about “New Vegas” not reaching a desired Metacritic score of 85, which would have led to bonuses for the team working on the game.
