Odell Beckham Jr. and Giants ‘open’ to in-season extension
The Giants did very little on offense without Beckham last week, gaining 233 yards in a 19-3 loss to the Cowboys. The Lions and Matthew Stafford have come back to win nine of the last 16 games in which they trailed in the fourth quarter.
The Giants are hosting the Lions at home tonight, but they’ll need more than familiar ground to get something going on the chance the Odell Beckham is out again.
Beckham Jr. If he’s fit, there’s no greater game-changer in the National Football League, let alone this game.
As far as Jenkins goes, nobody expected him to be inactive, and it seems that the unknown injury could have occurred in warmups or possibly in practice late in the week. If they can’t protect Eli Manning then this offense will be severely limited. And Detroit’s defense just got after Carson Palmer for three of them. Detroit has a tough offense to stop, but NY has the talent on defense to have success on that side of the ball. NY and Dallas are fairly evenly matched, and this game should reflect that fact.
All that treatment paid, off, as Beckham final was set to make his 2017 debut Monday night against the Lions.
Stafford versus the Giants “D”. The Giants have a lot of confidence in their secondary so they’ll likely bring some blitzes and different looks to make Stafford uncomfortable. Odell Beckham Jr. isn’t going to be pressured by your flailing rosters. The Giants would not have to play without their star receiver in their home opener.
