Odell Beckham Jr. My Behavior Was Embarrassing … I Apologize
The New York Giants wide receiver posted a six-sentence note to Twitter in which he wrote that he “dropped the ball on sportsmanship” in Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers.
Beckham was reportedly harassed with anti-gay slurs and a baseball bat before a game against the Carolina Panthers during pregame activities.
The ruling was made by appeals officer James Thrash, a former NFL player, who was jointly appointed by the NFL and the NFL Players Association to hear appeals of on-field discipline. “The guy said, ‘I’ll be the reason you don’t play today or ever again.'” Wing said officials broke it up and Ball went back to his own side.
Beckham Jr. just issued a statement saying, “I wasn’t raised to act like I did the other day”.
“I think that’s any athlete’s mindset”, said Osweiler, who will make his sixth consecutive start Monday night against the Cincinnati Bengals. This is about my behavior, and I am responsible for my behavior.
“People are going to interpret it. But the truth of the matter is, give me some concrete evidence so I can sit down and get this taken care of”.
The Giants will not have Odell Beckham Jr. against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday night as he has lost his appeal of his one-game suspension.
“I think it was the fourth or fifth play of the game, (Beckham) got body slammed”. Finally, Odell apologized to his coach and teammates for letting them down.
“To depict this as Odell Beckham being wrong and the only one wrong, is not right”.
Beckham leaves behind a Giants team that coach Tom Coughlin is desperately trying to hold together while at the same time keep focused on the upcoming game.
NY punter Brad Wing said Wednesday that Beckham was threatened by an unidentified bat-wielding man dressed in Panthers sweats during warmups. I displayed poor sportsmanship. They want to be proud of us, and proud of players like me who represent their team.
For his part in Sunday’s multiple altercations, Carolina cornerback Josh Norman was fined $26,044 on Wednesday by the NFL.
Beckham received three personal fouls and was given a one game suspension, with just about everyone agreeing he should have been ejected from the game long before he head-butted Norman in one particularly nasty late-game play. If Beckham were truly sorry for what he did, he’d set aside everything Norman said and did and apologize for conduct that fell so far beyond the boundaries of acceptable football maneuvers that the league saw fit to prevent him from playing an entire game because of it.
