Odell Beckham Jr.’s One-Game Suspension Upheld, Will Miss Giants-Vikings
He was wrong – there’s no doubt about it. …
Ball suggested he’d been falsely accused. Ball said Wednesday in the Panthers’ locker room.
“I apologize to my teammates, the Giants organization, and to all fans of the National Football League”.
Beckham got involved in several physical altercations with Panthers cornerback Josh Norman during that game, and he was hit with three 15-yard penalties for misconduct.
Odell Beckham Jr.’s appeal of his one-game suspension has been denied and the star receiver will not be on the field with his teammates on Sunday when the Giants face the Vikings.
Wing, who said he didn’t know who Ball was at the time, was asked if at any time he heard Ball direct homophobic slurs at Beckham. They want to be proud of us, and proud of players like me who represent their team.
Had they seen it, the officials probably would have booted Beckham from the game. Meanwhile, the National Football League fined Norman $26,044 for his role. He is expected to appeal.
“I think when you look at of the actions in their entirety it does warrant an ejection”, Blandino told NFL Network’s Dan Hellie Tuesday. That was certainly the perception, in addition to verbal insults directed at Beckham the Giants believe, after reviewing the situation, included anti-gay slurs. On ESPN’s Mike & Mike radio show, Norman said: “The insane part about all the unsportsmanlike conducts, I was just trying to be myself at the end of the day”. And he’s going to grow. We don’t take disqualification lightly.
“The only thing I’ll say about the incident that occurred the other day in the game, that everyone is preoccupied with right now, is the fact that to depict this as Odell Beckham being wrong and the only one wrong is not right”.
But once again, a player put himself before team and it helped the Giants lose another hard game. “Anytime a player is suspended for his actions, (it) would warrant an ejection”.
“He was out of control”.
Giants coach Tom Coughlin admitted that Beckham lost his composure and he considered taking him out in the third quarter to avoid any harm when the Giants were trailing by as much as 35-7. For the purposes of this policy, “foreign objects” broadly encompasses any item that is neither intrinsic to the game nor necessary to conduct pregame drills and treat and prepare players for the game. “We’ve sat down and talked about things that we needed to as a coach, players, general manager, all those things”, Rivera said.
