Odell Beckham Jr. Says sorry for Conduct, Suspension Upheld
New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. feels remorse toward the fans, his organization, kids who look up to him and his teammates.
The appeals officer was James Thrash, who is jointly appointed by the NFL and NFL Players association. Giants punter Brad Wing said the bat-wielding man told Beckham: “I’ll be the reason this will be your last game”.
“I think that’s any athlete’s mindset”, said Osweiler, who will make his sixth consecutive start Monday night against the Cincinnati Bengals.
“After the game, putting all the pieces together I think it may have had an impact in the way Odell was acting”, Wing said. “That is a responsibility I accept and take seriously”. He’s a star. I wonder why people are going in that direction.
Beckham was suspended by the league for “violating safety-related playing rules” in last weekend’s game against the Carolina Panthers.
On Monday, prior to Beckham’s suspension, reports surfaced that members of the Panthers’ practice squad had threatened Beckham during the pregame with baseball bats and directed homophobic slurs at him. He will miss Sunday night’s game against the Vikings. He was absolutely a part of the fighting, but Beckham hit him in the head-a huge transgression in the NFL’s eyes, with all of the attention that has been given to hits to the head and concussions as of late.
Under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the suspension may be appealed within three business days. “And I didn’t like the tone of the game, whether it was set by us or set by them, reacted by us or reacted by them”.
“Many of the parents of those kids have asked since Sunday what they should say to their children about my conduct”, Beckham said.
Fantasy impact: Beckham’s absence is a huge one in Week 16.
Better yet, don’t drop the ball, don’t let anyone throw you off your game, catch the football and race into the end zone for the touchdown.
“The only thing I’ll say about the incident that occurred the other day in the game…is the fact that to depict this as Odell Beckham being wrong, and the only one wrong, is not right”, Coughlin said.
Giants coach Tom Coughlin admitted that Beckham lost his composure and he considered taking him out in the third quarter to avoid any harm when the Giants were trailing by as much as 35-7.
Rivera said he wanted more specific information and evidence about what happened on Sunday’s game before he does anything about it. We’ll see if Wing’s account of the events will lead to anything.
Rivera said yesterday the Panthers will stop bringing a baseball bat out on the field, hours before the National Football League sent a memo reminding teams that props like bats are banned. There was a point during the game when I did get on the headset to the replay official to remind the referee that, ‘You can eject players.
Beckham circled back after the whistle on one play and targeted Norman with a helmet-to-helmet shot.
