Odin Sphere HD remaster confirmed for PS4, PS3 & PS Vita
According to Siliconera, this will be more than the typical paint job that many remasters from the PS2 era receive.
Entitled Odin Sphere: Leifdrasir, the game won’t be a simple remaster of the 2007 release. It’s newly announced HD counterpart is dubbed Odin Sphere Leifdrasir, and will not only feature high-definition visuals, but also new enemies, bosses, battle actions, animations, and maps.
For the uninitiated, Odin Sphere paved the way for Vanillaware’s later Muramasa: The Demon Blade and Dragon’s Crown. No word yet on releases outside of Japan, but given that the original made it over to positive reception, it seems likely we’ll see it later in 2016. The game was well received, and beat sales expectations in Japan. Set in a lavish fantasy world, Odin Sphere’s ambitious story structure cast players as five different characters, each with their own campaign adding to the non-chronological story in a Rashomon-like capacity.
