Officer involved wreck in Gastonia
Gastonia Police said witnesses reported the woman was driving donuts – tight circles – with her auto about 4:25 p.m. Thursday in a busy intersection and the motorist temporarily stopped her vehicle when police arrived.
“There were people hollering at her from the side of the road trying to get her to stop, and you could tell by what she was doing that something wasn’t right”, said Mack Millen.
Police said the woman struck two civilian cars and a second police cruiser before she drove down a 12-foot embankment, knocked over a fire hydrant and flipped her auto onto its roof.
The woman was taken to CaroMont Regional Medical Center to be checked out.
Lahser said those charges include two counts of assault with a deadly weapon on a government official, assault with a deadly weapon, and three counts of injury to personal property.
The woman whose driving provided a few scary moments at Gastonia intersection on Thursday is still being evaluated and is not in jail- yet.
The Gaston Gazette published video footage of the incident provided by a witness. She then allegedly backed up and rammed into his auto. Her vehicle then strikes a civilian auto before disappearing down the embankment. When they asked her name, they said she replied, “faith, hope and love”.
The woman was injured following the freaky incident in North Carolina in the U.S. this week but was able to speak to police who were bemused as the whole event unfolded.
