Officers having problem with government should leave: Kejriwal
The BJP’s fresh attack on the AAP came a day after the Delhi Government suspended two Home Department officers after they refused to sign on a file which had the Cabinet’s nod.
If DANICS-cadre officers in Delhi go on mass leave on Thursday, preparations for the odd-even scheme, which will come into force on January 1, may be adversely affected as most of these officers are looking after projects pertaining to the road-rationing plan.
Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Civil Service (DANICS) officers are selected through civil service exams and the Union home ministry is their cadre-controlling authority. “All those IAS officers who have problem with our government should leave Delhi”, Kejriwal said during an interview with CNN IBN.
On a day around 200 senior bureaucrats of the Delhi Government went on a mass leave protesting the suspension, the Union Ministry waded into the controversy by acting on a reference from Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung that the order was not proper.
In a series of angry tweets, Kejriwal said: “Narendra Modi ji is taking a shot (on AAP government) by using L-G and these officers”.
The Delhi government earlier suspended three officers after they failed to provide relief material at the slums which were destroyed.
A defiant Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal sent out a stern warning to agitating officers saying government was exploring “all options” against those who are on leave today.
“This is a very big issue that DANICS-cadre officers are on mass leave today”.
“LG personally attended DANICS association meeting yesterday (Wednesday) through speaker phone”.
“The suspension of two special secretaries is a completely wrong administrative decision. The BJP strongly opposes such harassment of officials and demands Jain’s resignation”, he said.
Jain was pressurising officials under his ministry to sign a file pertaining to the revision of pay scale of its standing counsel Rahul Mehra, alleged Upadhyay.
As Delhi gets ready to try odd-even rule for cars from Friday to curb the rising pollution, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government appealed to people to support the formula and make it success.
” with this, LG may hold her or him with authorization from MHA also it can suggest suspension of DANICS official and Delhi Government doesn’t have the capacity to hold any DANICS official”, stated a consultant of the affiliation.
