Officers respond to report of shooting at Umpqua Community College
Law enforcement officials are saying that early reports indicate at least 15 people killed and 20 others injured, according to multiple reports. At that time, five people were killed and one injured at a shooting at Marysville Pilchuck High School in Washington state. The first call about the shooting came into the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office at 10:37 a.m.
The shooter was believed to have been detained, Fugate also told CNN.
Boice said the shooter was “brought down”, according to KGW reporter Tim Gordon.
The Oregonian said police scanner traffic indicated that the shooter was “down”.
At 2:28 EST the department reported multiple casualties via Twitter.
The Associated Press reports that Umpqua Community College, where the shooting took place, has about 3,000 students.
