Official Cause of Death for Roddy Piper Announced
A report via TMZ.com on August. 19 indicates that a blood clot in Piper’s lungs lead to his death.
Wrestling Hall of Famer “Rowdy” Roddy Piper (whose real name was Roderick George Toombs) passed away earlier this month due to a heart attack in his sleep. The impact and sorrow felt after his death was though, as wrestling fans poured out their support for his family and honored his legacy in a variety of different ways. Clotting can occur as a result of high blood pressure.
Piper, 61, had suffered from high blood pressure, according to the death certificate obtained by TMZ, and was found dead July 31 inside his Hollywood, Calif., home.
Piper wasn’t ever shy about his flare for the dramatics or the luxurious things in life. Nonetheless, it was just last year that the wrestler confirmed his cancer was in remission. To watch Piper perform was to see a guy going 100 miles an hour at all times, so the idea of him being a bit wired shouldn’t be a surprise.
