Oh Good Lord, Mike Huckabee Has An Adele-Themed Campaign Video

To be fair to Mike Huckabee, although this ad might be the most weird thing we’ve seen in the Presidential horserace yet, it did remind me that, yes, Mike Huckabee is still in the horserace for President, and that’s 90% of why it was released.

Huckabee’s campaign also deftly weaved some political memes into the video.

The first chorus concludes, “This insane circus / it’s gone cuckoo-ca-choo / and Huckabee is the guy / who’s long overdue”.

The video, titled “Hello, HUCK”, channels Adele as clips show him traveling across a snow-covered Iowa in the bus that he’s been begging people to donate gas money for.

“Hello from the caucus niiiiiiiiiiight”, the song continues, “if Bernie wins I’m gonna diiiiiiiie”.

It’s well produced, we can say that much.

The video showed Huckabee taking phone calls on a bus, shaking hands with Iowans, playing the bass, and shooting a Thompson sub-machine gun at a firing range.

“It’s a ground game and it’s about Iowa voters breaking late, and I think as they start looking at the candidates, they don’t know a lot about some of the newer candidates”.

Huckabee won the Iowa caucuses in 2008, but has so far failed to gain traction on candidates like Cruz and Donald Trump, who are favorites to win the state when ballots are cast on Monday.

Mr Huckabee, whose numbers have been stuck in the low single digits, will once again take the stage during the undercard event before the main debate.
