OH has 2 Zika virus cases in visitors to Haiti
The department says the cases are among more than three dozen in 13 states and Washington, D.C. The virus, started spreading out of Brazil, has spread through most of the Americas.
The SCMP reported that Indonesia and Thailand had reported one case each of Zika so far.
Except in pregnant women, Zika virus is nearly always a very mild illness and for most people testing is not necessary, according to health officials. Severe illness and death from Zika virus are uncommon.
The mosquitoes that spread the Zika virus are among the hardest species to fight because they live and breed in spots where water collects inside houses and yards. The virus is spread to people primarily through bites from an infected Aedes aegypti or Aedes albopictus mosquito.
