Ohio gas prices remain low, slightly under national average
That’s about three cents lower than the average price of gas from last week, and about 14 cents lower than last month.
According to AAA Oklahoma, the national average for a gallon of gasoline is $1.71, the lowest price for February 22 since 2004.
Gasoline prices across the country are on the move, and while the national average is slightly higher to start this week than last, some regions are still enjoying falling gasoline prices.
The average price per gallon was $1.93 as of Sunday, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 91 Yakima gas stations. “Gas prices only increased fractions of a cent last week, but we could soon see larger increases in the coming months”, said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA – The Auto Club Group.
Outside of Alaska and Hawaii, California ($2.31) and Washington ($2.01) have the highest average gas prices. The price was $1.64 four weeks ago and $2.12 a year ago. This is a figure that has fallen by almost three cents in the past week, and about 48 cents in the past year. The lowest was $1.42 in Tucson, Arizona.
AAA Michigan says gas prices statewide have gone up by about 15 cents in the past week.
Global oil prices hovered around $30 a barrel last week, a quarter of its value during the summer of 2014, when gasoline prices here neared $4 a gallon.
