Ohio Gov. Kasich is 16th notable entry into GOP race
For John Kasich, launching a bid for the Oval Office boils down to three questions: Can he raise enough money to be competitive? As Ohio governor, he has cut income taxes and government regulation, battled organized labor and approved new restrictions on abortion and voting rights.
His mother Rasmia has also previously made allegations of physical abuse by her husband toward herself and the children.
Fawcett outlined the rigors of a university president’s job, the academic responsibilities, the fundraising aspects, dealing with the board of trustees – but he also mentioned something else to Kasich: that he was going to the White House the next day to meet with President Richard Nixon.
A large plan to separate the sewer and storm sewer systems carries a price tag of more than $140 million. “We’re pretty direct where we come from”, he said at a recent news conference, adding, “At the end of the day, it’s results”.
Kasich, who briefly ran for President in 2000, has been in the process of assembling a staff and recruiting fundraisers and donors since May, according to Politico.
“Do you think I can win?”
His spokesman, Rob Nichols, says for the safety of the Governor, his family and those who are with him, he never discusses security procedures or resources.
“If you don’t manage the debt, it’ll kill you”, Kasich said during a March stop in New Hampshire, pledging to “travel all over America” to promote his agenda. “No one else can say those things”.
It is worth remembering that in 2011, Kasich was beaten back by the public employees unions and their Democratic allies when he and the GOP-controlled General Assembly tried to dismantle the collective bargaining system.

Kasich grew up Catholic but drifted away, renewing his faith after his parents were killed by a drunk driver in 1987.
He is in contention for the last two spots, it appears, along with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, former Sen.
Rath noted that about one-third of New Hampshire primary voters could be self-described independent voters, giving the electorate a more moderate flavor.
Kasich is known for his unfiltered style and policies that are not always in line with his party. “We’re focused on the announcement”.
